A beginners guide to Creating a WAX Wombat Wallet

Wombat Wallet Creation For Mobile and Desktop

Step 1.) Visit https://getwombat.io/

Step 2.) Download either the mobile App or Chrome extension depending on your device. Both choices react, look, and function the same. For this example we will be downloading the chrome extension.

Step 3.) With the Google Chrome extension downloaded you will be presented with the sign-up/create wallet screen.

Click “Sign up”

Step 4.) Review the terms and select which option you would like to create your wallet with. For this example we will be using Google

Please Note: Whatever option you choose for the login method ENSURE that no matter what you will never lose access to your chosen sign in method. Wombat does provide a backup file of your wallet for worst case scenarios.

Step 5.) Set a passphrase for your wallet. This is to secure your wallet from someone using your device without your permission. This password is unique to your device. If you chose Mobile App it will ask you to create a 6 digit pin.

Step 6.) Choose which chains you want to create a wallet for. Start with WAX. You can revisit this for other chains at your convenience later.

Please note: Wombat supports numerous cryptos across numerous chains so as an intermediate user this wallet can support multiple use cases under one platform.

Step 7.) Choose “Create new account”

Please note: Once you have created your Wombat wallet you can use the import existing option on other devices so you can have access to the same wallets on both mobile and PC.

Step 8.) Choose a unique 12 character wallet name! Yes! You get a custom vanity address with wombat! It must be no more or no less than 12 characters. Once chosen click “Create Account”

Step 9.) Backup your wallet!! Do not lose your assets due to hardware or software failure!! This will ensure that if your device is lost, broken, or stolen you can regain access to your assets! Wombat cannot help you as they store zero information about your wallet. You and ONLY you own the access to this wallet so it is imperative that you take the necessary steps to make sure you do not ever get locked out.

Please note: You can move this backup file offline to a flash drive if you so choose. Wombat uses a unique hash to obscure the file but if you are concerned about the backup being on a cloud storage move the backup file to an offline storage location.

Step 10.) Your wallet is now created and ready to use on-chain. Your wallet address is the 12 character name you chose.

Please note: Websites that DO NOT display Wombat as an option for login. Simply click “Anchor” and the Wombat wallet extension or app will automatically open. So ANY dAPP that accepts Anchor login ALSO accepts Wombat.

You are now ready to use your new wallet to collect your favorite NFT’s!
